November 2008 NATO intelligence agencies report that for unknown reasons, the Russian military has destroyed GORKY 17, one of the old Soviet secret cities. A year later, NATO seizes a former Russian secret base built on Polish soil. In a completely destroyed city, diggers discover a laboratory complex. After examining the wreckage, NATO decides to leave the laboratory as is. But soon after, the previously deserted streets of the city are suddenly infested with hordes of grotesquely deformed creatures. Rumors soon reach the media, and NATO can´t just destroy the place. Therefore, the troops were ordered to hermetically seal the area. No one can enter or leave. A team of three NATO specialists, led by Canadian Cole Sullivan, is sent to study the horrific events on the ground.
